It is that time of year where everyone is reviewing 2016 and finishing their goal lists for 2017 and beyond.
Some people have 'to do' lists. Others have a 'bucket' list. Some think that is too depressing and have a 'life' list. Others call it the 'impossible' list....
I call it the 'itch' list. These are the things that you have a deep down burning desire within you to do.... that metaphorical itch that is hard to scratch. These are what I call our 'inner musts' and not 'societal shoulds'.
I seem to have that onging 'itch', but I'm not always sure how to 'scratch' it, so I'm looking for inspiration from you all.
While a good idea for many, I personally get bored with SMART goals, so I came up with an acronym for DUMB goals: Daring, Uncomfortable, Meaningful, Balanced (Balanced is important because I don't want to go broke, or get so uncomfortable that I am deliberately putting myself in danger.)
While I know many people are itching to get to FIRE, it is not just because they want to count their dollars, but because there is something bigger than themselves that they want to accomplish with their new found freedom.
It may be something that takes years to accomplish, or it may just take a lot of spontaneous boldness and one afternoon. It may be measurable, it may not be. It might redefine 'realistic' or maybe it is tried and true.
I'm looking for inspirational stories. Do you have an itch list? Do you have a story if you have already got to scratch those itches off your list? Do you have links to stories online from people who have accomplished truly amazing and unique things? If you have itches that you are waiting to scratch, why? Are you waiting for FIRE? Kids to be grown? Getting out of debt?
I have read the Happiness of Pursuit. Any other good books with true stories on people living their biggest dreams/goals?
Again, I'm looking for new, fresh ideas and inspiration from others.
