I’d like to “formally” introduce myself! My name is Jason, and a week and a half ago I took the plunge and launched my blog: thewealthhound.com
A little about me… I’m a self-proclaimed money nerd. I’m passionate about saving, earning, sharing and enjoying life. I have a wonderful wife and the most amazing dog you can possibly imagine. Guess what! He’s a coonhound, which is where the blog name came from. His name is Randy. Hope you enjoy getting to know him through my blog. I’m a graduate of Michigan State University (Math degree) and have a Master’s degree from American Military University (Global Security and Intelligence Studies). As my education suggests, I’m currently in the military and I’m intentionally not sharing more about my current career for personal/professional reasons. I’ll share more soon, I promise!
A confession: I don’t have an eye catching money story. I’ve had very little debt over the years. My wife had some student loans, which we paid off quickly (kinda regret this actually), both make decent money and save about 47% percent of our income. Without getting too far in the weeds, my plan is to make my eye catching money story! I’m not sure what the next few years of my life entail, but I know it’s going to be exciting and I plan to document all the happenings on my site! Stay tuned, big announcement coming in the next few weeks.
I’ve enjoyed getting to know many of you over the past week and a half. The personal finance, FIRE, choose your word(s) to describe our community has been both motivational and inspirational. As you all know, starting a blog is a lot of work (especially when you still have a “9-5” job), so I appreciate the enthusiasm and genuine “good people” vibe I’m getting from everyone. I love hearing your stories.
Thanks in advance to those of you who have already checked out my page. If you haven’t, you have an open invitation! You may have seen me around on Twitter, and now you actually know who I am!
Looking forward to getting to know all of you more! If you have time, reply with a little about yourself!
Peace and love,
