Would anyone be willing to share what they look for when choosing stock funds or ETFs to put in their taxable brokerage account?
Some of the characteristics I have been looking for include:
Index fund of course!
Low Turnover: <25%
Low Distributions: <2%
Low Fees: < 20 to 25 BP
Value and Blend Funds
To make things easy, I may just go 50/50 with the Total Stock Market and Total International Market Fund.
Currently my allocation is:
401K: All S&P 500 (it was the cheapest by far and still costs a whopping 25 BP
ROTH: 60% Small Value, 20% Emerging and 20% Small International
I would like to keep a 50/50 split between my domestic equities and international equites throughout my entire portfolio. I also would like to keep a tilt to value and small cap.
