Haha JK! I just thought I would catch your attention with that awesome title. It has been very rewarding reading everyone’s definition of FIRE. Some people like Steve have worked their rears off to retire at 35 while others are completely comfortable working into their 60s and 70s doing jobs they love. The great thing about this community is that we all can learn so much from each other. The spectrum of people and occupations along with the sound advice has been nothing short of phenomenal. Just wanted to say THANK YOU for creating this awesome community. You know I am hooked when I am checking the “forum” while waiting in my patrol car at the jail.
Good one @Frugalcop! Had me going for a second there
Well said, @Frugalcop!
Ya big jerk !
LOL nice title
Yes, we each have our own paths and it is an ever changing and organic animal
HAHA my first thought was, “Oh this should be good!”
I think it’s great for this kind of thing, I love all the different stories and I click on things that I don’t think will be of interest and I usually learn something. It’s great!
That’s what I love the most about this community. There’s absolutely, positively nothing wrong with working into your 60s because you love your job. I think that sometimes people get the impression that we believe early retirement should be the goal of everyone, but that’s just not the case. If you’re working a job you love, there’s no reason to fix something that ain’t broke!
The reason why I like the people on FIRE (couldn’t resist) is the extreme financial efficiency that they(we?) take to heart.
Every person tries to control their finances, but people on FIRE are personal finance’s masters.
