My name is J. I’m a 20-something wife, mother, lawyer, and now author of the blog Their Money Goals (come visit me at theirmoneygoals.com!).
I’m very new to blogging but not new at all to the personal finance world. I’ve been lurking on many of your blogs for years and have gotten so much inspiration and wisdom from you. I’ve been terrible about engaging and am definitely working on doing better now that I’m in your shoes and see what it’s like. Feeling like you’re sometimes writing to no one is loads of fun.
My husband and I have an insane amount of student loans, and the birth of our son was the catalyst for our decision to get down to business to pay them off. (Funny how kids come into your life and turn it completely upside down.) We figured we may as well throw the mortgage in too.
Our goal is to be finished in 5 years–1 down, 4 to go! It helps that my husband is about to finish his residency, so we’ll be bringing in more from his new position.
I started my blog last month to chronicle our debt payoff journey and, once we’re debt free, our progress to FI. I’m also aiming to teach and encourage others because so many of the people around me are intimidated by the notion of taking control of their finances. I want to make it less scary by providing tips on the basics of personal finance.
Please connect with me! I’m @theirmoneygoals on Twitter, and you can also find me on Pinterest (pinterest.com/theirmoneygoals). I’m excited to get to know you all and to talk freely about all things personal finance with people who get my passion for this stuff. I’ve been driving my family and friends crazy for quite a while now.
