We cut the cord about 2+ years ago... It helps to keep us sane, but one of the things we really missed was the DVR for recording things. We went with a Channel Master DVR+. It's great, it's a DVR with a guide that works with OTA channels for about $200 one time expense. For what ever reason the CBS antennae was damaged recently so we don't get that anymore? Weird.
I use my sisters cable log in so we can stream things through the FireStick that we bought. So that covers ESPN and most of the basic stuff.
The other thing we do, which is a bit of a grey area. But ehhh, is we side-loaded Kodi onto the FireStick. It's actually really great, we can get any TV show, any Movie, even live sports for free, streaming mostly from some chinese and russian sites and spotty at times, but again... what do you really want for free?
