I'm interested in sustainable living because it is the right thing to do. We've only got one planet (right now), and its resources are limited. At the rate we are burning through them, we're going to be screwed very quickly. We need to start now to have a chance of long term survival.
To me, sustainable living means zero carbon footprint, and efficient use of resources. I drive an electric car. I don't have solar yet, but have plans to install panels in the next 5-10 years (waiting for my roof to need replaced before installing panels). I do all the basic stuff like LED lighting, low flow fixtures, high efficiency HVAC, etc. I would like to install a gray water system, but a retro fit on my older home makes it too costly. Trying to talk my wife into chickens - good for the yard, good for the food, good for the environment.
