I'm Derek and I'm a software engineer by day and an aspiring personal finance blogger by night. I write over at Million Dollar Hacker. You may have seen it, but most likely not.
In the software world, a hacker is one who solves problems (not those crazy movies like Swordfish).
I'm from Indiana. I've only been blogging for two months, but I've really enjoyed it so far. I've tried to jump head first into the personal finance community and I've loved everything about it. Some of you have some great blogs.
Thank you for all of the inspiration. It really means a lot to see all of you working hard and producing some awesome things.
Some things I'm working on in 2017:
- Saving 25-40% of our income.
Finally taking a honeymoon with my wife. Keystone here we come.
My writing. I don't think I'm a natural writer, but I'm working at it. Like I mentioned above, being able to read all kinds of PF blogs really means a lot.
Traffic. As I'm just two months in, I'm still learning the ropes and experimenting.
Guest posts. I really want to work hard on great content for other blogs. If you have any tips for me, it would be much appreciated.
Thanks for listening. I'm really excited to belong to a special community like this.
Oh, and if anyone ever needs any code related help with their blog, let me know. I've been writing software for over 10 years. My expertise is on the web, so in most circumstances, I should be able to help.
