Just a reminder: The second reader meet-up is this Saturday, Dec. 31. I know that day is kind of fraught for those planning to attend/host New Year’s Eve bashes, but that’s how the calendar landed this year. My daughter will also be there; she blogs at I Pick Up Pennies and recently published “Frugality For Depressives: Money-Saving Tips For Those Who Find Life A Little Harder.”
It takes place from noon to 3 p.m. at Wendy’s, 640 W. Thunderbird. (Watch for the Home Depot, with which it shares a parking lot.) The restaurant is a pleasant place to sit and chat – there’s even a faux fireplace – and the staff doesn’t seem to mind how long we stay. (A previous meet-up stretched to almost five hours.)
I may be there later than 3 p.m. if I’m getting work done (I bring the computer for the times when no readers are there), so stop by and see the writer at work on the second volume of “Your Playbook For Tough Times: Living Large On Small Change, For The Short Term Or The Long Haul.”
And speaking of books (nice segue!): Both of ours will be available at a nice friends-and-family discount. Bonus No. 1: You can get either one personalized. Bonus No. 2: No need to pay for shipping and handling.
Hope to see you there. Look for the woman wearing the black T-shirt with the “Money Nerds Unite” logo.
