Hi guys, I'm a little late to the forums here but better late than never, right? Well, I've been blogging here from Michigan since about 2008. I was reading lots of great blogs at the time (there were a lot fewer back then) and one day I said to my wife that I wanted to try it. She loved the idea and away we went.
I really enjoy the personal side of personal finance. Since I've been writing for a long time I can't churn out post after post about why it's great to have an emergency fund or why people should pay off their credit cards. While I do think things like that are great ideas, I'll talk about them when it applies to my life, either through personal experience or through someone I know.
Quite honestly, I've always felt like a bit of an outsider. As a kid, I thought that would go away when I 'grew up' but either it hasn't gone away fully or I haven't really grown all the way up lol Probably a mix of both. I see the community that many bloggers form after joining communities like this within just a couple of months, and I do get jealous because I haven't made the same type of connections after all these years.
But you can hopefully teach a new beagle new tricks. I'd love to get better in touch with my fellow bloggers. I went through a big thing last year where I found over 100 'new to me' blogs. I can already tell that through these forums I can probably find 100 more.
So I look forward to connecting with those I haven't had the opportunity to do so with, and to better connections I may have already had but not fully explored.
Thanks for those who are putting this together.
