I know I haven’t even properly introduced myself to the forum, but it’s because I wasn’t quite sure what exactly I wanted my blog to be - or to become. Until today, my logo was Blue and Gold, or “team” colors, as my husband said. Now it’s pink. WTH???
A (male) freelance writer looked at my fledgling website and said “the thing that makes you interesting and that will appeal to readers is your stay-at-home Mom background.” Women managing kids & finances, investing in real estate.
While I know that fewer women invest in real estate than men, I actually believe it can be a great side hustle for stay at home parents (which are still, more often than not, women). I’ve also read before that successful bloggers need to clearly define their niche. And it should be narrow.
On the flip side, I am generally against the tendency of society to create divisions based on gender, race, etc…when none need apply. Anyone, absolutely anyone, can be successful in managing family finances or investing in real estate with the right information and motivation.
So, I’m very curious to hear from anyone who has thoughts on this. Have you narrowed your PF niche? And what do you think about gender focusing? Thanks for any input!
