I've been lurking a bit on the forums and thought I best introduce myself.
I'm 27 and on track to "retire" before 30 with husband and dog (hopefully anyway! Fluffster's a senior citizen now). I'm an engineer, as is my husband (but sadly not the pooch...the adorable little freeloader).
The dream right now (that we're just starting to formally plan) is to travel the world for a year or two and be digital nomads, possibly including writing a novel and/or travelogue, and indie game development (likely with some really geeky economic analysis behind the scenes). For the next couple of years we're planning on staying in the Boston area, though!
Blog is "Fetching Financial Freedom" (because yaay alliteration!). It's been up for a couple years now, but I've only been advertising it / having a social media presence for the last year or so (and post every 3-4 weeks on average).
I mostly write about (1) Random analyses, like coding up a "Landlord vs Stocklord" calculator, or going through a recent repairing vs replacing car decision (2) Happiness (and life hacking optimal happiness for the money) -- what's worth it? How much and where should we donate? Etc (3) Random excerpts / archiving life -- how we spent $5k on a scuba diving vacation with my grandparents, for example.
Looking forward to being more active on the forums and geeking out over money stuff.
