I don’t believe in being atypical. I think everyone has their own financial goals and spending habits.
Yes, I did feel “weird” about not wanting to spend money on 10 drinks in one night or buy new clothes every season, but this was back when I was way too young to realize real friends don’t care about your status, but about you as a person.
My parents taught me a great deal about saving and I picked just the college in the end (after dropping out 2 times…).
But as far as retirement goes, my friends aren’t really focused on that right now. But that’s OK, everyone has their own priorities.
