This feels like an interview! Thank you very much @TheFrugalGene for the questions. Yes, a feel different from my peers but not by a lot. I think most of my friends are focused on saving money and doing the best they can.
I don't think many in my peer circle know or understand the concept of FIRE, which is one of the many reasons I started the site. People just assume you become a lawyer and will practice until you're 65. Quite possible but it's nice to know there are other options.
Yes, they were great teachers. We also didn't have a ton of extra money but were always comfortable. That was a great environment for me because I always felt safe and secure and found it motivating to go out and get a job at 16.
YES! Sort of. I got two degrees. One in International Relations and another in Economics. I'm glad I got the Economics degree. I'm not so sure about the International Relations. Given that I eventually went to law school and so my undergraduate degree doesn't matter, if I did it again I'd probably pick something else that I found interesting.
