Congrats to all those with great years, and cheers of encouragement with not-so-great years. Here’s to 2017!
2016 was a great year for us. Our net worth (including mortgage but excluding home equity because it’s too volatile to bother tracking) went up by 71%. I still don’t understand how that happened, but I’ll take it! For the first time ever, we nearly maxed out our retirement contributions. We maxed out my HSA, cash-flowed my part-time graduate tuition, saved for a kitchen renovation and new car, enjoyed hobbies, and took two trips. Also, 10% of our year’s spending was on tithing, charity, and family support, which is important to us.
We hope to keep this going in 2017, woohoo!
